Congressional neglect

America’s illegal immigration dilemma is steadily growing more complex. Unfortunately, a small percentage of illegal aliens are violent criminals, or suspected of violent behavior. US citizens would be safer if Congress made three critical changes to US law –

  • Congress must spend additional money to secure the borders, and then jealously ensure all funds are used to reach specific goals predetermined by Congress (additional personnel, better technology, etc)
  • Congress must expedite the deportation hearings foreign nationals are legally entitled to receive (this will not be cheap)
  • Congress must ensure federal law enforcement agencies identify, capture, hold, and rapidly repatriate illegal aliens who are gang members or engage in violent activities

Sadly, Congress is unlikely to do any of these things. As a result we can expect more disturbing stories like this one.
